Who We Are and How We Help

Campus Slice is a free service for high school and college students, giving them a head-start on paying their college tuition. It’s available for students attending community colleges, universities, culinary schools, technical institutes, and graduate programs. They create a free and unique profile on our site and create a monthly goal they would like to reach. Upon completion, the student spreads the news to their family, friends, and sphere of influence through Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and by E-mail. The student’s supporters can then give monthly contributions ranging from $5-$100. Throughout the student’s High School or College experience, he/she can write updates on their profile to supporters telling them about midterms, exciting news, or just thanking them for their love and help in this huge journey and irreplaceable investment. Over the course of 1-4 years, the student will be able to rack up enough support to avoid taking out large amounts of student loans.

Our Goal

Put a dent in the student loan epidemic.

What We’ve Done

Since we launched our site in February, Campus Slice has partnered with 20 students across Texas and bordering states. So far, the students have raised over $200 a month! We are still making adjustments to our beta site, however we will hopefully have a more solidified site come Summer.

In March, we had our South by Southwest Startup Crawl Event here in Austin, TX. Needless to say, it was a HUGE success for us. We were able to speak with hundreds of investors and intrigued passersby. With a few exchanged business cards, we were able to connect with a few handfuls of interested business people and university groups. We hope to start engaging and partnering with them soon to make Campus Slice even more accessible and successful for all students nationwide.
